Lawrence High School Auditoriums
Auditoriums at Lawrence Central High School and Lawrence North High School were upgraded to create elegant, dynamic performance spaces while simultaneously addressing issues of efficiency, accessibility and safety. The scope of the renovations included new finishes, lighting, technologies, sound system upgrades and acoustic improvements.
The auditoriums now host events ranging from single speaker presentations to dance recitals, plays and musicals. A new wireless microphone system has improved both performance and backstage communication. Upgraded mixing stations and speaker arrays have enhanced sound, and LED lighting has made the facilities more energy efficient. Touchscreens at each of the auditoriums offer controls for teachers, coaches and administrators to easily manipulate the lighting, sound and projectors.

In the original auditoriums, a high rake made it impossible for patrons in wheelchairs to access the stage from the audience. Renovations addressed this by providing direct wheelchair stage access from the audience seating, improving safety.

Safety lighting was improved for spectators and performers alike. Floor lights assist audience members in exiting the auditorium safely, and pit edge lighting allows performers to see the edge of the stage during shows.
Our goal for these auditorium renovations was to create flexible performance spaces where all students can shine.
