01 Project Overview

Indiana University wanted to consolidate departments of the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (OVPUE) under one roof in a renovated portion of Wells Library.

Fanning Howey created a plan and design that clustered departments within zones, while still maintaining an open and collaborative office environment. Offices for departments like Health Professions and Prelaw are strategically located in lower-traffic areas, while the Career Development Center is next to a main entrance, giving students quick access to advising resources and collaborative work space.

The design also expanded cafe seating for the nearby Bookmarket Eatery while establishing a new secure circulation pathway that separates OVPUE offices from the public cafe for the first time.
