For more than 35 years, John has focused on working with leaders in higher education to plan the future of their campus facilities for 21st Century living and learning. Over his career he has been a Design Studio leader, Regional Managing Director and Managing Partner for leading architectural firms where he was instrumental in establishing the design direction and implementation of major design commissions in education, nationally and internationally.

John’s past projects include:

  • American University of Afghanistan, Kabul
    Campus Master Plan and Design – $350 million, 5,000-student college campus
  • Bates College, Lewiston, ME
    Carnegie Science Center – Additions and renovations to historic campus building
  • Community College of Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA
    Natural Science & Technology Building
  • State University of New York, Syracuse, NY
    Health Sciences Center – New 300,000 SF
  • Virginia Tech University, Blacksburg, VA
    College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Facilities for Metabolic Research
  • Virginia Western Community College, Roanoke, VA
    STEM Teaching Facility
