Skyline High School

The new Skyline High School creates a dynamic learning environment that empowers students and teachers through flexibility, collaboration, and community connection.
To achieve this, the design team worked closely with district leaders and faculty during visioning sessions to define a shared goal: a school that supports next-generation learning while honoring Granite’s departmental approach. The result is a campus organized into flexible learning communities, each centered around open, adaptable spaces that encourage interaction and innovation. Breaking away from traditional double-loaded corridors, the design introduces a vibrant public square where the media center and study café serve as hubs for academic and social engagement. Athletic facilities were designed with the same emphasis on versatility and student experience. Instead of a single-use gymnasium, Skyline features a fieldhouse with four courts, overhead partitions, and an upper-level running track, creating space for multiple activities simultaneously. The school also includes an eight-lane, 25-yard competition pool with seating for 500, ensuring that athletics and wellness are integral parts of the student experience..
