Project Architect - Dublin Office
Fanning Howey is looking for an experienced Project Architect to join our Indianapolis office. As part of our mission to create smarter places for learning, you will lead be part of project teams for K-12 and Higher Education clients throughout Indiana. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited architectural program and have 4 to 10 years of related experience or training. Professional registration is required.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepare information regarding the design and specifications of materials, color, systems, prepare opinions of possible cost and project schedules.
- Plan layout of project and integrate engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
- Prepare scale drawings and contract documents for building contractors.
- Represent clients in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts.
- Administer construction contracts and conduct periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
- Prepare project designs and documents using computer assisted design sofware and equipment.
- Direct activities of staff engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents.
- Consult with vendors on materials and equipment.
- Check shop drawings and coordinate requests for information with contractors and Construction Manager.
- Attend meetings for project coordination.
- Conduct feasibility studies and compose reports.
- Assist Project Manager and designer with codes issues; consult with local and state officials in review of codes.
- Continually further professional development/education by engaging in appropriate programs and experience opportunities.

- Graduate of an accredited architectural or engineering program or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional registration is required.
- Fluency in Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office
