Fanning Howey Names New Senior Associates

Indianapolis, Indiana, May 27, 2025 – Fanning Howey, a nationally-recognized leader in learning environment design, is pleased to announce the promotion of multiple team members to the role of Senior Associate. The firm’s Senior Associate program recognizes individuals who display outstanding leadership in the pursuit of creating smarter places for learning.
Senior Associates
Teri Baker Umbarger, AIA, joined Fanning Howey in 2025. As Architectural Discipline Director, she oversees architecture staff across the firm’s four offices and is responsible for continually improving the way Fanning Howey delivers projects. An award-winning architect with 39 years of experience, Umbarger has led teams and developed processes for some of the country’s most successful design firms.
Salvatore Moschelli, AIA, has been leading the firm’s Ferndale, Michigan, office since 2023. As a Project Executive, Moschelli excels at leading by listening and has a proven talent for building consensus among multiple stakeholders. He is the winner of the 2024 Distinguished Architecture Alumni Award from the Lawrence Technological University College of Architecture and Design.
Dan Powell leads Fanning Howey’s business development efforts. As National Director of Business Development, he provides valuable leadership for key growth initiatives, both in the Midwest and throughout the nation. Powell draws on his 20+ years of experience in the design and construction industry to create lasting partnerships that deliver better client outcomes.
Nick Van Wieren, AIA, joined Fanning Howey in 2022 and leads the firm’s Crown Point, Indiana, office. As a Project Executive focused on serving northern Indiana clients, Van Wieren is known for his ability to combine big picture thinking with attention to detail in a way that delivers maximum value for our clients.
