Fanning Howey Expands Michigan School Funding Expertise with Addition of Brad Hemmes

Michigan, August 4, 2025 – Fanning Howey, an architecture, interiors and engineering firm specializing in learning environments, is excited to announce that Brad Hemmes has joined the firm as a Capital Planning Advisor. Hemmes has 34 years of experience in helping Michigan school districts successfully plan, promote, and pass capital projects. With a track record of supporting more than 150 school districts and contributing to more than 350 bond issues, Brad enhances Fanning Howey’s ability to deliver exceptional pre-bond planning services across the state.
Hemmes has worked with Michigan school districts of every size and setting, helping turn community input into funded solutions through both bond issues and sinking funds. His background spans construction management, architecture and engineering, and he has built trusted relationships with key players in the capital planning process, including state agencies, legal counsel, and financial advisors.
