Fanning Howey Welcomes Craig Fennig as Chief Operations Officer

Ferndale, Mich., July 29, 2026 – Fanning Howey, a nationally-recognized architecture, interiors and engineering firm specializing in learning environments, is pleased to announce that Craig Fennig, AIA, has joined the firm as Chief Operations Officer (COO).
Fennig brings more than 30 years of leadership experience helping architecture and engineering firms improve operations, develop high-performing teams and achieve sustainable growth. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for strengthening organizations through operational excellence, strategic leadership and a collaborative approach that empowers people to succeed.
For the past 15 years, Fennig has served in executive operations leadership roles within the A/E industry. As COO, he will oversee the firm’s operational strategy, working closely with leadership to enhance efficiency, strengthen project delivery, develop future leaders and support Fanning Howey’s continued growth across its national practice.

Throughout his career, Fennig has led initiatives that improved organizational performance, enhanced project delivery, reduced operational risk and strengthened client relationships. He is passionate about mentoring future leaders, developing talent and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Fennig is a licensed architect in 14 states, including Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. He earned a Master of Architecture degree with a minor in Business Management from Lawrence Technological University.
