Fanning Howey Expands Ownership Team with Promotion of Dennis Bane to Principal
Indianapolis, Ind., July 27, 2026 – Fanning Howey, a nationally recognized architecture, interiors, and engineering firm specializing in learning environments, is pleased to announce the promotion of Dennis Bane, AIA, ALEP, to Principal. As Principal, Bane joins Fanning Howey’s ownership team.
“Dennis has consistently demonstrated the leadership, vision, and client-first mindset that define our firm,” said Tim Lehman, PE, CEO of Fanning Howey. “His dedication to helping school districts create exceptional learning environments and his commitment to innovation make him an outstanding addition to our ownership group. We are excited to welcome him as a Principal.”
A Project Executive in Fanning Howey’s Indianapolis office, Bane has devoted more than 25 years to serving educational clients and has earned a national reputation for innovation in educational facility planning and design. He partners closely with school districts to develop facilities that support evolving instructional practices, strengthen communities, and improve student outcomes.
An Accredited Learning Environment Planner (ALEP) through the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), Bane was recognized as an A4LE Fellow in 2021 for his significant contributions to educational planning and design. Since joining Fanning Howey in 2022, he has led K–12 planning and design projects throughout Indiana and has played a key role in advancing some of the firm’s most impactful educational initiatives. His collaborative leadership and strategic approach have strengthened relationships with clients while helping position Fanning Howey for continued success.
As a Principal and member of the firm’s ownership team, Bane will help guide Fanning Howey’s long-term strategy, support the development of future leaders, and continue advancing the firm’s goal of creating smarter places for learning.
Bane earned his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
