Construction Administrator
01 Job Description
Fanning Howey is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Construction Administrator to join us. In this key role, you’ll lead construction efforts for K–12 school projects across the state—helping to create smarter, more effective learning environments.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform project site visits, documenting compliance with Construction Documents and producing site visit reports.
- Oversee and review contractor pay applications and closeout documentation
- Manage job site visit reports, punch lists, meeting notes, and field correspondence
- Track construction budgets, contracts, and contingency usage
- Coordinate field schedules and support field construction administrators
- Attend pre-construction meetings and guide project documentation workflows
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of change orders, warranties, and closeout materials
- Draft field correspondence and contractor communications
What We’re Looking For:
- Background as a Project Engineer, Construction Manager, or Project Manager in the AEC industry
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in the Project Engineer, Construction Manager, or Project Manager role(s)
- Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills is a must
- Experience with K-12 or public-sector construction projects is required. Residential or non-commercial experience is not preferred
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative
- Familiarity with state and local construction documentation processes is a plus.
