Interior Designer - Indiana
Fanning Howey is seeking an exceptional Interior Designer to join their Indianapolis, Indiana office and play a crucial role in the company’s growth.
The ideal candidate will promote the corporate vision, support all quality assurance programs, and foster innovation to enhance efficiency and productivity. This individua will assist in leading the Interior Designers in planning, designing, and furnishing interior environments for K-12 education buildings and other projects. The candidate will confer with clients about their ideas and needs, blending those with their own to create beautiful design concepts.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Maintain close client contact from the initial conceptual meeting throughout the entire design process.
- Build and maintain a close relationship with the entire design team, assisting with critical design elements.
- Confer with clients to determine architectural preferences, purpose and function of the environment, budget, types of construction, equipment to be installed, and other factors affecting the planning of interior and architectural environments.
- Integrate findings with knowledge of interior design to formulate practical, aesthetic, and purpose-driven environmental plans, such as raising productivity or improving occupants’ lifestyles.
- Advise clients on interior design factors, including space planning, layout, utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, and color coordination. May also advise on architectural elements.
- Responsible for creating color brochures and selecting color schemes.
- Render design ideas through drawings, illustrations, or 3D renderings; estimate material requirements and costs, and present designs to clients for approval.
- Conduct and develop design presentations.
- Select or design and purchase furnishings, artworks, and accessories.
- Subcontract the fabrication, installation, and arrangement of carpeting, fixtures, accessories, draperies, paint and wall coverings, artwork, furniture, and related items.
- Continue professional development.
- Assist in coordinating and preparing for corporate-wide department meetings.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and education through appropriate programs and experience opportunities.
- Adhere to the Human Performance Code of Conduct, support Quality Assurance programs, and foster innovation to increase efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications Preferred:
- Miniumum of five years experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Revit
- Knowledge in Microsoft Products
